QT Fashion Week brings all the glamour, beauty and legs that Vogue could only dream of...

Our fashion forward editor had the opportunity to attend QT Fashion Week and here she discusses the trends, highlights and rising fashionistas that emerged from the Gold Coast's most glamourous week.

Dedicated fashionistas gathered in the QT ballroom to watch models strut their long legs showcasing Australia’s most fabulous up and coming designers.

Amidst the deliciously elegant High Tea, perfected pedicures and Jimmy Choos, all eyes were on the catwalk to witness the latest trends set to take the fashion world by storm.

Champagne in one hand and an IPhone in the other ready to Instagram, the show opened with Misha Collection. The pieces focused on neutral colours, exquisite tailoring, lace and crop tops.  Paired with simple, slicked back hair and natural makeup, the collection had a high-end fashion feel.  The lace designs were a standout, something of a charming style collaboration of Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton- possessing sex appeal but also understated elegance. The tailored jumpsuits with midriff cut outs were applauded by the audience and a fashion essential for sophisticated dinners or red carpet statements.

Vibrant colours, kaftan styles and a Hampton’s feel defined the next collection by Anna Hulm. The designs were reminiscent of Nicole Richie’s Boho style mixed with Camilla kaftans, having the undoubted potential to be a necessary staple in our wardrobe.  Whilst the models were undeniably beautiful, all eyes were fixated on the patterns and prints of the clothes. With hues of soft pastels embedded within delicate silk material, the dresses flowed down the runway with elegance. Perfect for High Tea at Versace or brunch Gossip Girl style, the Anna Hulm collection is perfect for the trendsetting fashionista.

The third collection showcased was by Lucid, with models rocking the catwalk with fierce attitude. If anything the collection was a delightful surprise, incorporating a number of designs from bodycon dresses, leather skirts, Peter Pan collared tops to tailored navy suits that looked straight out of a Vogue photo-shoot. Ideal for the edgy youth generation, Lucid is the brand to watch!  It is only a matter of time before every teen desires this collection of modern confidence and sophisticated edge on their fashion wish list!

Closing the show was Mariam Seddiq… and what a way to end! Think Parisian Nights, and the Cannes Film Festival. The collection by Mariam Seddiq was simply stunning! Characterised by embellished jewel gowns, high necklines and simple colour blocking, the collection added a touch of class to Gold Coast fashion.  A piece from this collection is a must for any high-end event. Mariam Seddiq is the new queen of graceful style!
